Family Legacy & Ownership Planning

Plan for the Next Generation

Preserve the memories. Prepare the next generation. Your timeshare may represent years of special family vacations, but future ownership can also involve financial obligations and important decisions. We help you organize the information, discuss the options and prepare a practical family roadmap.

1. Understand Your Timeshare Ownership

Start by organizing resort agreements, deeds or membership documents, vacation usage rights, maintenance-fee statements, financing information and any restrictions on transfers.

We help identify questions to ask your resort about ownership changes, approvals, possible fees and continuing responsibilities.

Your Benefit

A clearer understanding of your ownership and the information your family may need later.

2. Prepare Your Family for Future Decisions

Not every family member will want to keep or use a timeshare. We help you prepare conversations about vacation preferences, ongoing costs, who might want to participate and what alternatives may be available.

We also help organize a family information checklist with key documents, resort contacts and important questions.

Your Benefit

Better communication and fewer unanswered questions about future responsibilities.

3. Coordinate Your Family Legacy Plan

When you're ready to explore next steps, we help organize information for conversations with resort representatives, independent estate-planning attorneys and qualified transfer professionals.

Your roadmap can include maintenance-fee planning, potential ownership options and periodic reviews as family circumstances change.

Your Benefit

An organized family plan, with independent professional guidance when needed.

Important Considerations

Timeshare inheritance and transfers depend on the ownership contract, applicable law, resort policies and individual circumstances. A timeshare cannot always be transferred to a trust or beneficiary. Resort approval, lender consent, fees or legal documents may be required. Inheritance does not automatically mean every family member must accept ownership, and a trust does not automatically eliminate maintenance-fee obligations. Consult an independent attorney for legal and estate-planning advice.
